*JOINING A CONTEST*
Whenever a new contest is made there will be a new thread in the contest section relaying a brief description of that specific contest. Each contest has it's own parameters and due dates will vary with each one held. The new thread will only give a brief description of the upcoming contest that you will be signing up for. The full-detailed outline will only be released after the 7-day sign up period. During those first seven days you are able to post in the thread of the contest you wish to join. All the information you have to post in the thread is a post saying that you wish to participate.
*CONTESTS INFORMATION*
GRAPHIC CONTESTS: Graphic contests will be given a 7-day sign up and a brief description of the graphic that is to be made after that 7-day sign up. The Information given out in the brief description will consist of enough to make an outline, but not enough to make a complete charset for the character. For example:
RACE: Human
JOB: Innkeeper
Then for the full description you will be given in full detail what is expected:
GRAPHIC DESCRIPTION: A rather overweight elderly Human Innkeeper with dark clothing, brown hair, blue eyes and a beard.
Once the graphic is completed it is to be posted on forum and you yourself must find a host to host the graphic on in order to link to it. www.photobucket.com is a good host for pictures and can hold several hundred graphics. If you're one of the top three winners your graphic will be hosted on the site with your permission. The time for a specified graphic's due-date will vary and be given at the same time as the full description is.
GAMING CONTESTS: Gaming contests will be given a 7-day sign up and a brief description of the game that is to be made after that 7-day sign up. The Information given out in the brief description will consist of enough to make an outline of the game, but not enough to make a complete game. For example:
Fantasy-based rpg with two heros, three towns minimum and a main boss.
Then for the full description you will be given in full detail what is expected:
A fantasy-based rpg with two heros one being a dog and the other a non-human being of your choice. The three towns must each give you one small quest that revolves around a chicken and the main boss must be an elderly innkeeper with a beard. The plot should run smoothly and the most common monster you fight should be a blue sheep the game must be under one megabyte of space
When your game is completed it must then either be sent to me through msn, uploaded to a host of your choice and have a link that links to the download or sent to me through other means. I would prefer you upload it to your own host. gameroom.com is an excelent host for games. All games are to be zipped using winzip and not put into a .rar file only .zip. Due dates for games will vary between two-three weeks.
WRITING CONTESTS: There will be a 7-day sign up for any writing contest and the full description of what is to be written will be given right away in full detail. Writing contests can be anything from a games plot to a poem to the first chapter of a book or even a short story. due-dates for writing contests will be extremely short such as 5-8 days only. You will be given a set minimum of words and your work is NOT to be posted in the threads, it is to be sent through msn to myself or uploaded to a host and link have a link to it through the forum, but the full piece is too much space and words for the forums to hold.
WINNING CONTESTS: To win a contest your work is to be judged by the three-four varying judges, Ethan Hawkeye, Vizor, Vlamirth and Amadeus. The winner of each contest will have their piece posted up for download in the contest section of the site if it's written or game and the graphics will be poste din the resources section. Also the top three winners of each contest will have a medal with their place and username as well as their avatar or representing sprite or themselves posted in the contests section of the site and will remain there until the next contest is held, where they may retain their position if they win or lose it if they lose.
