Alright so you want to make a door animation of a door opening to add a little bit more realism to your game, well it's simple enough. Firstly goto the rtp resource charset of objects and click the door you want to use. Simple enough. Have the event facing so the door is closed and is the same level as the hero and make it a push key event. You can call the event door if you want.
Now make it so that when you click on the door you have a move event and have it set to this event and make it face right, then wait, face up, then wait and then face left. Put a wait at the end of this and make the event disappear. Now this is just for the coding of the animation, which will look like this:
<>Move Event: This Event, Face Right, pause, Face Up, Pause, Face Left <>Wait: 0.8 Secs <>Erase Event
But you don't want to just make the door open and close, unless it's a door you can't enter, so now to add your transporting, make an erase screen event under the Wait: 0.8 secs and then have it teleport you to your destination, then make a show screen event and then erase event. This will bring you to where you want to go and close the door for when you go back to the old map again later.
