I ran into the site looking for ideas for a rpg I've been working on, the storyline is posted if anyone cares to read and offer any thoughts. If I had to say what I was most interested in, it would have to be story development and scoring my own works of music for the games I work with. My philosophy is that the story is the most important aspect of an RPG. I know not everyone will agree with this, so just let it be a way of getting to know me. Story first, music second, gameplay third, and visuals close behind that. I'm looling forward to working with you all. Happy developing!

Scoring music? And how do you do this? Is it with a program? I like you already.
I used to use a program called MIDI Maker until the trial ran out ten uses before it was supposed to... do you have any suggestions for good midi-making programs? or even sound effect making programs?

The top of the line scoring programs are things like Sebelius and Finale. But simply for midi making you can look at stuff that is much, much cheeper--or in some wonderful cases, free. I work on Sebelius 3, but before then I used a program called Noteworthy Composer. You can use the trial version until dooms day, all you have to do is when your "saves" are used up, save your project under a new name, and ta dah! you have all your trial saves back. A quick google would probably find you the program, and you can get stared right away. Once you have something, you can import it like any other file and have it play during gameplay. I like that idea a lot, as some of the songs on the maker are a little...eh...annoying. Hope that helps!

I never found Noteworthy Composer to be too user friendly... but yes, I am looking for a free program.
Do you know a way I could bypass the ending of the trial on MIDI Maker?

I'm going to buy it someday then... I tried out NWC again, it's okay except you can only use 128 instruments. Midi Maker went up to 160...
