Hotmail has increased the amount of storage due too the strong compition coming from Google and other companies. Hotmail previously was only giving 2 Megs of space, which was nothing compared to the amazing space good was giving (1000 Megs). Since GMail opened many other E-Mail companies have been struggling to keep up. In this effort hotmails knew storage is now at 250 Megs.

Is there even a point? Yahoo already has 100 mg storage and 10 mg uploads... that's more than enough for me.
